for the Sundown people, heres what the leaked event names actually gave us:

Sundown, Sundown Beach, Sundown Tarmac 1/2/3.

beach fits both Key West and Daytona. tarmac is the wildcard, could be an airport, could be a racetrack, could be nothing. Ambrosia also has a tarmac event and we've only seen a racetrack there, no airport. so tarmac doesnt automatically mean airport. it genuinely doesnt settle it either way yet

16km hard world limit

this is the most useful post in the thread and its gonna get buried under plate talk. if theyre still on 32-bit and the current mapped area is already near those limits, that pretty much kills the secret Cuba to the southeast idea. the map is what we can see plus a bit

dumb question maybe but could Gloriana just be Appalachia coded? mountains, national park, small hill towns. would explain the elevation up north without needing a whole second Florida

been staring at the water on the community map and i'm fairly sure you can boat from Vice City up through the Grassrivers, out past the Keys, round to Gellhorn, up a river into Lake Leonida and back down into VC's canals. if that loop is real and seamless its gonna be the best traversal in any GTA

what i really want from the small towns is the RDR2 treatment. motels you can actually stay in, maybe buy a little place. i spent literal in game weeks just living in Valentine and Strawberry. if Hamlet, Watson Bay and whatever's up north all have that lived in feel then the map being only 2x V wont matter at all

fair, but Key West does have an airport so Sundown Tarmac still slots in fine for a Key West read. i'll admit the road sign near Key Lento is the one thing that makes me wobble, the second name on it doesnt look like it starts with an S

secret Cuba to the southeast

if they DID want a Bahamas or Cuba and theyre stuck on 32-bit, the clean way is an airport transition. you fly out, camera goes into cloud, they unload Leonida and load the new area somewhere near the origin, then sell the its far away illusion with a travel cutscene. thats how you get a second landmass without wrecking the precision budget. pure guessing but its the technically sane way to do it

honestly thats the read i've come around to. mountain, park, a couple hill towns, moonshine and militia vibes. you dont need to parody a whole second state's culture for that, you just need a biome Florida cant give you. which annoyingly also means they coulda just faked the elevation inside Leonida and not bothered. round and round we go

the canals are what i'm most hyped for tbh. imagine losing a 5 star chase by cutting through the waterways instead of the highway. escape routes that arent just drive north on the freeway would fix the single most boring thing about V

settling the Cuba thing for myself. politically its a nightmare, its bigger than people think, and it'd need its own cars, clothes and systems to not feel like reskinned Florida. i put it at basically 0%, maybe a whisper of a chance as an Online thing years down the line. Bahamas is more doable but i've seen nothing pointing to it

right, and if that sign really is two Keys and neither is Sundown then Key West is called something Key and Sundown is free to be Daytona or some east coast beach town. that one blurry sign is doing a lot of work for the Daytona camp
