the diner one is still the single most useful clip in the whole lot and its the one people forget. lucia holds up a waffle place, staff and customers on the floor, and she goes round the room robbing them one at a time rather than one prompt for the till.

you can see the kitchen and the seating area in the same shot with no cut between them. thats a fully built interior in a random roadside diner in a build from years back

thats the bit that made me sit up at the time. rdr2 does the going round the room thing in robberies and it looked like theyd carried that straight over. small detail but it tells you which game 6 is built off

cover system in those clips wasnt the old snap onto the wall thing either. jason moves into cover and out of it without the camera doing that lurch 5 does. never mind the graphics, thats the change id have wanted to see

there was also a clip of him going flat on his stomach, proper prone like a shooter. thats never turned up in anything official since.

and for what its worth a later leaker claimed it got cut because it played badly. thats one bloke saying that, not rockstar, so file it wherever you want, but it does line up with it never appearing again

the age of the build is the thing nobody accounted for at the time. the whole internet spent that week saying it looked rough and unfinished. it WAS rough and unfinished, it was work in progress footage from years before anybody was meant to see it.

there were genuinely people arguing it was a fan project in unreal. for about a day and a half that was the popular opinion, until rockstar put out a statement confirming somebody had been inside their network 🫠

the fun game since trailer 2 has been spotting stuff that was in those clips. the pool everybody argued about turns up in the trailer, same shape, same surroundings. a few of the street layouts match too.

which tells you the map geometry was largely locked years ago. the art on top of it is what theyve been doing since

the debug text in the corner of those clips is where the actual information is, not the gameplay. people pulled around 157 separate interior references out of it. not 157 buildings you can walk into necessarily, references, but its a number that came off their own build rather than a guess

same story with the world events folder. somebody on gtaforums went through the file names and came out with 1367 entries, 876 of them already named. put that next to 60 random events in 5 and you can see why people lost their minds.

caveat being theyre file names in an old build. plenty of those will have been binned. still an interesting shape for what they were building

my favourite little one is the traffic file. the name of it lines up with a patent take two filed for a system that runs npc traffic and pedestrians differently to how gta has always done it. two separate sources pointing at the same thing, which is rarer than it sounds with this game

and the water stuff. reports off the back of the leak said there was a team at rockstar san diego doing real time ocean simulation, depth colour, foam where it hits things, all of it. at the time it sounded like wishful thinking.

then you watch trailer 2 and the boats sit in the water at different heights depending on how loaded they are. that one aged well

nobody ever mentions the venue names that came out of it. malibu club, jack of hearts, the kington hotel. the malibu one is a vice city name from 2002, so either theyre rebuilding it or they reused the string. either way its been sat in the pile for four years and nobody talks about it

weapon handling in the clips read a lot closer to rdr2 than to 5 as well, and there was swimming and going underwater in there. the underwater part has obviously turned up properly since with the diving in trailer 2

reminder that everything in this thread came off a build from 2019 or 2020. mechanics get cut all the time. treating a file name from six years before release as a feature list is how people end up disappointed in november

fair, but the opposite has happened more often here. nearly everything anybody has been able to check off those clips has shown up again in the trailers. the hit rate is better than any leaker whos posted since
