GTA 5EnhancedMercedes-Benz S500 W220

Add-on Mercedes-Benz S500 W220 for GTA V Enhanced: the early 2000s S-Class with wood trim cabin, modelled engine bay and two engine sound variants.

Claim
Front three quarter of the silver S500 W220 with clear headlamps, chrome grille and five hole dish wheels, parked in a lot next to semi trailers
Rear three quarter at a gas station showing the S500 boot badge, the San Andreas plate, the Michelin lettering on the tyres and light exhaust smoke
Wide shot in a truck stop car park with the hood, the doors and the boot open, showing the engine bay, with garages and a red semi in the background

Before giant screens took over the segment, the S-Class ruled it with silence. This add-on brings the Mercedes-Benz S500 W220 to GTA V Enhanced in silver, the flagship of the early 2000s with its clear lens headlamps, the chrome grille under the bonnet star and the five hole dish wheels of the era, wrapped in tyres that carry the Michelin lettering on the sidewall. The conversion is listed as ready for both the stock Enhanced look and NVE.

The screenshots walk around it like a good used car ad: the front three quarter parked next to semi trailers, the rear at a petrol station with the S500 badge and a puff of exhaust, and a wide shot with the bonnet, the doors and the boot open over the modelled engine bay. Inside, the first person view shows the W220 exactly as it was: a wood rimmed steering wheel, walnut trim running across the dashboard and the classic analog cluster.

One quirk to know before touching the trainer: the dlcpack folder is called s500, but the spawn name the author set is s600w220. Both are literal — the folder name goes in dlclist.xml and the spawn name goes in the trainer, and mixing them up is the usual reason the car refuses to appear.

The download comes in two variants: one with a custom engine sound and one that keeps the stock GTA audio, useful when another sound add-on conflicts with it, an issue the author notes has existed since the Legacy days. The mod was developed and tested on a clean copy of GTA V Enhanced.

How to install

  2. 2With OpenIV, open update\update.rpf\common\data and edit dlclist.xml. With onigiri, edit onigiri\common\data\dlclist.xml with any text editor.
  3. 3Add the line <Item>dlcpacks:/s500/</Item> and save the file.
  4. 4In game, spawn the car with the model name s600w220.

Frequently asked questions

How do I spawn the S500 in game?

Use any trainer and spawn it by the model name s600w220 — that is the literal name the author set, even though the car is the S500. The dlcpack folder is called s500 and that name only goes in dlclist.xml.

Why does the spawn name say s600 if this is the S500?

It is the model name the author gave the release on Nexus, kept here untouched so the instructions keep working. Type s600w220 in the trainer and the S500 appears.

I can't hear the engine sound. What's wrong?

Engine sound add-ons can conflict with each other, an issue that has existed since the Legacy scene. If it happens to you, install the variant that keeps the stock GTA engine sound.

Does it work on GTA V Legacy?

No — this build is DimoSerb's conversion for GTA V Enhanced, and the page also lists it as ready for NVE.
