ClaimNot every good car mod needs a widebody. This one brings the 2016 Volkswagen Passat R-Line sedan, the B8 generation, to GTA V Enhanced in gloss black: chrome grille bars that run straight into the LED headlights, the R badge on the grille, chrome trim around the windows and sills, and twin five spoke alloys with red brake calipers peeking through. It is the kind of car that disappears into traffic, which is exactly the point.
The screenshots keep it honest. The rear view at an old gas station shows the PASSAT lettering, the red taillights and the two chrome exhaust tips; a golden hour shot opens the hood, the boot and all four doors at once over a modelled engine bay; and the cockpit view frames the flat bottom multifunction wheel and the twin backlit dials on the move. The header catches the front head on with the LEDs lit. The conversion is prepared for both Enhanced and the NVE graphics overhaul.
It ships in two installation flavours. As an add-on it lives in its own dlcpack called passatb8 and spawns by the same name, leaving the stock garage untouched. As a replace it takes the slot of the Premier, the four door sedan that fills half of Los Santos traffic, by copying the files into vehicles.rpf. Remember that only one replace of the same vehicle can be installed at a time, so if another mod already occupies your Premier, go the add-on route.
The download comes in two variants, one with a custom engine sound and one that keeps the stock GTA audio, useful when another sound add-on conflicts with it, an issue the author notes has existed since the Legacy days. The mod was developed and tested on a clean copy of GTA V Enhanced.

- A trainer with vehicle spawning for the add-on version
How to install
- 1Add-on: copy the contents of the folder to mods\update\x64\dlcpacks (or to onigiri\dlcpacks if you use the onigiri loader).
- 2With OpenIV, open update\update.rpf\common\data and edit dlclist.xml. With onigiri, edit onigiri\common\data\dlclist.xml with any text editor.
- 3Add the line <Item>dlcpacks:/passatb8/</Item> and save the file.
- 4In game, spawn the car with the model name passatb8.
- 5Replace version: copy the contents of the folder to mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf (or to onigiri\dlcpacks\nve_vehicles\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf). It takes the slot of the Premier.
Frequently asked questions
How do I spawn the Passat in game?
If you installed the add-on version, use any trainer and spawn it by the model name passatb8, the same name as the dlcpack folder. The replace version simply takes over the Premier wherever it appears.
I can't hear the engine sound. What's wrong?
Engine sound add-ons can conflict with each other, an issue that has existed since the Legacy scene. If it happens to you, install the variant that keeps the stock GTA engine sound.
Does it work on GTA V Legacy?
No. This conversion targets GTA V Enhanced and is also prepared for the NVE graphics overhaul. For the Legacy edition you would need a different build.
What does the Replace version replace?
The Premier, one of the most common four door sedans in Los Santos traffic. Its files are copied into vehicles.rpf, and only one replace of the same vehicle can be installed at a time: if another mod already replaces your Premier, use the add-on version instead.
