The 2006 Charger SRT8 is the muscle sedan that brought the Charger name back as a four door: the first generation of the modern car, powered by the big 6.1 litre HEMI V8. This conversion brings DeezNutties123's model to GTA V Enhanced complete with a custom engine sound, so it looks and sounds the part.

One thing to know before installing: unlike most add-ons in the catalogue, this one replaces a stock car. The package still installs through its own dlcpack, but it takes over the Buffalo2, better known as the Bravado Buffalo S, Franklin's sedan. Wherever the game would load a Buffalo S, in traffic or in story missions, you will see the Charger instead. Removing the pack brings the original car back.

The screenshots show a black build with orange accents on the roof, the hood scoop and the side stripe. The SRT badge sits in the crosshair grille, red calipers peek out behind the silver five spoke wheels, and the Charger and SRT8 lettering dresses the trunk lid. One wide shot opens the hood and doors over the HEMI engine bay at a rural gas station, and the first person view drives behind white ringed gauges.

Installation follows the usual routine: copy the folder into dlcpacks, register the chargersrt8 package in dlclist.xml with OpenIV or the onigiri loader, and spawn the car with the model name buffalo2.

The download comes in two variants: one with the custom engine sound and one that keeps the stock GTA engine audio, useful when another sound add-on conflicts with it, an issue the author notes has existed since the Legacy days. The mod was developed and tested on a clean copy of GTA V Enhanced.

Requirements

  • GTA V Enhanced
  • OpenIV (or the onigiri loader) to edit dlclist.xml
  • A trainer with vehicle spawning to spawn the car

How to install

  1. 1Copy the contents of the folder to mods\update\x64\dlcpacks (or to onigiri\dlcpacks if you use the onigiri loader).
  2. 2With OpenIV, open update\update.rpf\common\data and edit dlclist.xml. With onigiri, edit onigiri\common\data\dlclist.xml with any text editor.
  3. 3Add the line <Item>dlcpacks:/chargersrt8/</Item> and save the file.
  4. 4In game, spawn the car with the model name buffalo2 (this mod replaces the Buffalo2).

Frequently asked questions

How do I spawn the Charger SRT8 in game?

Use any trainer and spawn it by the model name buffalo2. This mod replaces the Buffalo2, so the Charger loads wherever that car would normally appear.

Does replacing the Buffalo2 affect missions?

The Buffalo2 is the Bravado Buffalo S, Franklin's sedan, and it shows up in traffic and in story missions. With the mod installed you will see the Charger in its place; remove the dlcpack and the stock car comes back.

I can't hear the engine sound. What's wrong?

Engine sound add-ons can conflict with each other, an issue that has existed since the Legacy scene. If it happens to you, install the variant that keeps the stock GTA engine sound.

Does it work on GTA V Legacy?

No. This port targets GTA V Enhanced only, so Legacy players should look for the original release by DeezNutties123 instead.
