Few cars say Eastern Europe circa 2000 like the Daewoo Lanos, and this is almost certainly the most complete version of it ever built for a GTA game. darewnoo made the original for GTA IV, and this release is his own work carried forward — with, in his words, the bugs and holes of the GTA IV model removed — later converted to GTA V Enhanced by DimoSerb and posted with the author's permission.

The numbers are absurd for a humble compact: three add-on spawns — lanos3, lanos4 and lanos5 — covering the three-, four- and five-door bodies, with cabrio and pickup among the five body styles; 336 unique custom parts out of 711 in total; 30 dedicated wheel types with correct names; 28 exclusive 4K liveries out of 48; properly working licence plates from 11 countries; an experimental changeable VIN, a first for GTA V; and badging for four brands — Daewoo, FSO, ZAZ and Chevrolet — matching the car's real production history across Korea, Poland and Ukraine. It can even tow a small trailer, and the extras run from working neons, breakable mirrors and halogens to movable sun visors and a foldable passenger seat on the three-door, an animated exhaust, realistic body colours, correct LODs and FiveM compatibility.

The screenshots show the range: a red SX sedan in the desert, a cherry four-door by the shore, teal, olive and magenta cars lined up together, a dark-green cabriolet with its top down and a tow ball on the bumper, and an interior with green dashboard trim, a period cassette radio and a proper first-person driving view.

A Replace variant is also included — its files copy straight into vehicles.rpf — but the original page does not name which stock vehicle it substitutes, so the add-on route is the one we recommend. Two downloads exist: custom engine sound, or stock GTA audio for games with conflicting sound add-ons.

Requirements

  • GTA V Enhanced (PC)
  • OpenIV (mods folder) or onigiri
  • A trainer to spawn the vehicle (e.g. Menyoo)

How to install

  1. 1Copy the contents of the folder to \mods\update\x64\dlcpacks (or to onigiri\dlcpacks).
  2. 2With OpenIV, go to update.rpf\common\data and open dlclist.xml (with onigiri: open onigiri\common\data\dlclist.xml in Notepad).
  3. 3Add the line <Item>dlcpacks:/darewnoo_lanos/</Item> and save.
  4. 4Spawn the cars with a trainer using the names lanos3, lanos4 and lanos5.
  5. 5(Replace variant) Copy the files to \mods\x64e.rpf\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf (or to onigiri\dlcpacks\nve_vehicles\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf). The Nexus page does not specify which vehicle is replaced.

Frequently asked questions

Which spawn names does it use?

Three: lanos3, lanos4 and lanos5, one per body — three-, four- and five-door. Cabrio and pickup are among the mod's five body styles.

Does the Replace variant overwrite a specific car?

The Nexus page does not name the replaced target: its files copy directly into vehicles.rpf. If you want to know exactly what changes in your game, use the add-on variant instead.

The engine makes no sound — what happened?

Other engine sound add-ons can conflict with this release's audio; the issue is known since the Legacy version. Use the second download with stock GTA engine sounds if you are affected.

Does it work on GTA V Legacy?

No. This conversion targets GTA V Enhanced and its dlcpacks structure. The mod itself is also FiveM-compatible according to the author.

Why does it carry FSO, ZAZ and Chevrolet badges?

Because the real Lanos wore all those badges: it was built in Korea by Daewoo, assembled in Poland by FSO and in Ukraine by ZAZ, and sold as a Chevrolet in several markets. The mod includes badging for all four brands.
