half the npc jank in V is the writhe animation. shoot a guy, theres a chance he drops into that on the ground moaning state, and once hes in it he dies no matter how much health he had left. one point of damage, same result, so the whole damage model feels random. RDR2 wasnt perfect but at least a downed man could stay down and alive. VI needs a proper wounded state, guns shouldnt be a 100% instant kill every time

the game grabbing control of my character in scripted spots. you know when you walk up stairs and it smooths the movement for you, you basically have to fight it to go where you want. ladders are worse, drift near one and the character latches on when you never asked, and in a tight space thats a nightmare to peel off. other times you WANT the ladder and it wont grab until youre right on the edge doing baby steps. ive fallen to my death because the prompt didnt fire. let me press a button and be in control even if its a bit clunky

might be heresy but helicopter snipers should be a 4 or 5 star thing, not standard issue. in real life you basically never see it outside of one huge event a decade ago. every 2 star chase raining aimed rifle fire on you the whole time isnt fun, its just noise. also can we finally get firefighters AND paramedics that both do their job. IV had working medics, V had working firemen, pick both this time

the wanted system needs a rethink. two stars for lightly bumping a cruiser and then the whole department chasing you across the map like you set off a nuke. i want RDR2's version where a witness actually has to see it and report it, and the response builds up instead of teleporting on top of you. bonus idea for a Vice City setting, corrupt cops who look the other way for a bit of cash. and please, the phone, i dont need a call every two minutes, let me check a notification when i feel like it

careful, you dont know how hard VI is gonna be yet, the abilities might actually matter this time. and if youre an assisted aim player Michael and Trevor's powers were never a big deal for you anyway, for free aim players its a different story, especially if that reticle sway is back. easy fix imo, cut the abilities the same day they cut the headshot and accuracy medal objectives, deal

Online's economy is the one that actually scares me for VI. imagine finally spotting a boxy 80s Impaler in Vice City and it still runs you a cool million. i love ugly square chevys, own one in real life, and i couldnt look myself in the mirror paying seven figures for a pixel one. a hatchback costing more than a real supercar killed any sense of value years ago

on a lighter note they could do something fun with abilities, tie them to the old Vice City pills, sell them in shady spots or a black market and pop a wanted star if the wrong person clocks you. and give me a haunted Vercetti mansion easter egg while youre at it, that place is begging for one

couple more for the pile:

- cop cars keeping pace with a full super car, what engine is under a stock cruiser exactly
- loading screens just to walk into a building
- npc wallets giving you 15 bucks when the animation clearly shows a fat stack, the maths never adds up

been replaying Vice City lately and it reminded me how much better V-Rock is than the classic rock station V shipped with. and honestly a decade plus has soured most of V for me, its still a good game, its just been the ONLY gta for twelve years, which isnt really its fault. i just want something new already

lmao its true, everyone hates a different thing and the pile just looks like the whole game ๐Ÿ˜Š for the record i actually love V, ive just stared at its flaws for a decade so theyre burned into my brain

been thinking about how id fix collectibles for VI. dont mark them on the map at all, hide the info out in the world instead. an npc drops a rumour, a tourist brochure, a photo on some in game social feed you have to actually recognise the location of, GeoGuessr style. reward me for paying attention instead of pausing to stare at a big circle. a hat, a jacket, something for the safehouse. RDR2's treasure maps were close, just make more of the game work like that
