ok my biggest one, the second you walk into any shop or interior the game yanks your gun away and slaps it on your back. why. im not gonna rob the clerk with my bare hands like a caveman, let me keep my piece out. this tiny thing bugged me for 12 years and i really hope VI kills it

the flying bikes, the orbital laser, all the alien and superhero junk. GTA is not Saints Row, and the moment Saints Row turned into a cape cartoon it died the first time. i mostly just play GTA, Mafia and Red Dead so maybe im biased but keep the meme weaponry locked in Online where i never have to see it

special abilities. V was already a walk in the park and slowing time on top of that turned every gunfight into a nap. also give the guns actual recoil and spread this time, shooting in V felt like waving a laser pointer

the medal screen after every single mission. bronze silver gold, i dont care, stop grading me. i play these to mess around my own way, not to hit a checklist some designer wrote. worst part is it shoves all the reasons you didnt get gold right in your face. save that for after the credits for the completionist crowd and leave the rest of us be. rdr2 at least tucked it into a little corner notification, easy peasy

everyone keeps begging for smarter cops and i keep asking, do you actually want that. even dumb as they are in V the police already melt you with one rifle burst because their aim is basically flawless. an npc hosing you down with a smg out of a moving car and never missing isnt challenge, its cheese. if VI makes them smarter they HAVE to nerf the aimbot first. and please, if that rdr2 reticle sway comes back, throw free aim players a bone, thats the real nightmare, not the AI

every time i open this thread it reads like V is the most hated game ever made when its the exact opposite. half of you are wrong but hey, different strokes. fair warning though, some kind of ability IS coming back, Jason has the eagle eye highlight in the footage. probably toned down from V but its there. personally the only one i ever leaned on was Franklin's, that speed boost was genuinely busted

being forced to lug every gun in the game at once. if VI gives each weapon real stats its gonna be miserable auto swapping to the base pistol when i wanted the big revolver. and dont get me started on Online defaulting my drive by to that micro smg with the gumball machine rattle while i had ten better options equipped. IV had it right, carry less, reach for what you actually want faster

the letter scraps are genuinely the worst collectible ive ever seen in a game. a tiny sliver of white paper faintly glowing on some random rock on a beach, no map, no hint, and the payoff is a 30 second cutscene and a short chase. at least the spaceship parts hand you a cool car. whoever signed off on fifty of those with zero reward needs to have a lie down

my list of stuff that stays in V:

- cars you can only buy off a website, cant find them in traffic to test first, kinda defeats the grand theft part
- cops popping in front of you every few seconds
- stars in the middle of nowhere from a witness that doesnt exist
- one punch and the guy is dead, makes melee pointless
- flipping a car back onto its wheels instantly, IV punished bad driving and was better for it

i dont mean the shooting, their aim is fine, too fine. i mean the behaviour. i want police that think, that set up, that respond to what you do in a way that makes sense. its GTA, the cops are half the game, yet in every one so far they act like a swarm and nothing else. let VI be the first where a chase feels like a real response instead of a spawn closet swinging open

the camera distance resetting itself. i run the furthest third person cam and every time i step into a building it snaps close, fine, i get that, but then i walk back outside and its STILL close so i have to fix it AGAIN. every single time. if i set a preference just respect it R* ๐Ÿ™‚ also the car wash deliveries in Online forcing a ten second slow walk down the driveway before you can leave, i learned the exact spot they drop me just to dodge it

small one but it lives in my head rent free, you cant leave a car with the engine running. in IV you tapped exit and hopped out engine on, held it to shut off, simple and perfect. V ripped that out for no reason. technically you CAN in V but you have to force the character into an agitated state by kicking the door or firing a shot first, which usually gives you a wanted level, so youre trading a running engine for two cop stars. still cant tell if thats a bug or a real design choice a decade later. textbook if it aint broke, and they broke it

the arcade driving. when V launched i was gutted the handling threw out everything IV built. doesnt have to be full IV but it needs to lean toward weight, a supercar should struggle up a muddy hill, not pin it like a go kart. same for guns, give me bullet travel instead of hitscan and some recoil. the two things you do most, driving and shooting, should feel like something you learn to master. also, and i know im dreaming, dedicated servers instead of peer to peer

how far back into arcade history do you even have to dig to find handling as floaty and weightless as V's. the police AI and the crash physics feel like someone had a bad idea for how the game should play and then built it in the most half baked way possible. ill say it, V is the only bad GTA ive played, and no amount of production value saves gameplay that basic

the garage saving. you find a nice car in the street, park it in your garage, and the game just doesnt make it a personal vehicle. wander too far and its gone forever. each character gets exactly one default car and thats it. let me claim whatever i want as my main ride this time, its not 2005

the helicopter and plane turbulence. im replaying on Enhanced right now and its comical how much a heli wobbles on a totally clear day. propeller planes go absolutely feral even with maxed flying skill. save the shaking for actual storms and high altitude. while im here, whatever that hunched over stealth walk was, bin it, just give me a proper crouch button
