weve seen how big a deal social media is in sixs world, but how far do you reckon it actually reaches into the gameplay? some stuff ive been turning over: npcs film your crimes and the clip goes viral so your next jobs get harder. shops and banks tighten security after you keep hitting them. rich neighbourhoods start hiring guards if houses in the area keep getting robbed. get spotted going into a safehouse and it stops being safe. maybe you have to keep your head down for a day or two, cough up some fines or bribe someone to cool your infamy down. businesses refuse to serve you once your face is too hot. bounty hunters or vigilante npcs come after you once youre infamous enough.

realistically youll just end up scrolling your phone all day ingame lol

i think it feeds into the strangers and freaks stuff. you spot something on the feed with a location and a time, maybe told to bring an item, and it opens up a side mission

the brazilian amazon listing leaked that its one of the five core pillars of the game. supposedly you can even crash an influencers live stream if you clock theyre filming somewhere near you

i dont think itll touch the main story much, but the everyday characters you meet reacting to what you post would be a lovely bit of detail, kinda like how rdr2 keeps track of that stuff

ive always wondered if that was just someone guessing. feels weird rockstar would hand a random retailer a specific bit nobody else got. usually they just give a generic description and some art

my read is theyre holding the full social media system back until online drops, since thats really what its built for

trailer 1 basically told us. half of it was framed as little tiktok clips with comments underneath. i could see missions kicking off by you watching a video and going to track down the people in it

i can see finding weird stuff around leonida and snapping it on your phone working a bit like collectibles. sort of like those photo missions from spiderman 2, just hopefully a bit more dynamic

probably just ends up being a hub for finding whats happening out in the world, events, missions, that kind of thing

you know how the gta 5 radio cuts in with little news bits about heists you just pulled? id put money on the social media thing being mostly that

phones are a liability though, feds can tap em easy. so id bet on burner phones now and then, maybe a payphone, or some encrypted app to actually talk business without getting flagged
